While a typical image is only two-dimensional, with digital media you can show an object from all angles.

For small to medium objects, we use our software-controlled turntable with our high-resolution digital camera to capture images of the object from all viewpoints. Depending on the restrictions of the destination medium, we would capture anything from 8 to well over a hundred images. Our software pieces the images together to create a 360° image (optionally self-animating) which the user can control.

The converse of this technology is to set a camera in a fixed position, then rotate the camera to capture the entire environment around it. The images captured are stitched together to create an interactive image that shows an environment off better than any single image can. Ideal to showcase a retail interior or a new building.

Multiple views can be linked together for a virtual tour of a large area, and it’s also possible to link to object views — for example, to create a digital museum where all the exhibits can be picked up and looked at.

Some samples of our work are shown below. For more ideas and a demonstration of some of what is possible, please visit Apple's Hardware Gallery pages. QuickTime is required, so please download it here if it is not installed. Note that we can create 360° movies that do not require QuickTime.

This handbag has been photographed and colour corrected to effectively show a range of colours. The concept can be applied to any object for which different styles or colours are available.

This innovative watch has two faces, obviously difficult to clearly represent in a simple 2D picture. Click on the image and drag your cursor from left to right to move the watch face.
